Co-repair workshop guide

Identity, Print & Illustration

A framework and a guide on how to organise a self-repair workshop in a local community.
The Co-repair project outcome is comprised of a 20-page guide booklet accompanied by a collection of helpful resources, a shorthand leaflet and an Instagram account for the initiative.
The project seeks for ways to incentivise people to repair their old belongings instead of throwing them away. This idea believes that seeking and sharing knowledge strengthens both community and individuals.
The initiative tries to prove that many things can be repaired by ourselves and aims to make the process of organising a workshop as easy as possible.

For the campaign, I had developed a set of 12 illustrations in total and then used as a springboard for the visual identity. Each one started as a lino print and later was decorated with red accents.

Co-repair initiative is a softer-type community campaign, therefore it needed an approachable identity that could still be taken seriously. The limited but energetic colour palette and a logo that matches the rest of the campaign help achieve this. The Instagram account is live and acts as an online base of resources.

At the degree show exhibition the project was a part of my wall display, inviting people to reconsider their understanding of repair and grab an informational leaflet. I had reused elements of one of the illustrations to create a wall vinyl, and added a visual element of "string painting" for a more unusual effect, to tie things together.
